Jesus guarantees that the eternal life He has given Believers can never be lost, not for any reason. His promise is a safety net to us. It assures that we can approach life with a confidence that no matter what comes, He stretches the arms of His unfailing grace underneath us. His promise to us still rings, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” – Hebrews 13:5
The exciting news of God’s promise of life everlasting should be relentlessly preached and taught. We should sound it out to the lost as the good news of salvation and also repeat it to the saved to nourish their growth in grace.
The good news that God saves us, and keeps us, by free grace is not a detriment to the Christian life; it is the foundation for it. The teaching of everlasting life sets the Bible’s message of salvation apart from the heresy of manmade religion. The safety net of god’s grace is the only means of salvation and the greatest motivation to work for the Lord. ?
